BEYOND IMPRISONMENT

The Delhi High Court has come up with a clear message by delivering a remarkable judgement in Priyadashini Mattoo's case. The message is transparent-that whoever it is,all are equal in the eyes of law irrespective of their positions in the society. This verdict is going to serve as a warning to the prospective criminals also. But there is one issue that still lacks severity-the punishment for the sexual assaulters. At present the maximum penalty given to these criminals is life imprisonment under section 376 of IPC..So it has become the need of the hour to review the punishment given to these malicious persons, who don't deserve any mercy. The penalty given to Imrana's assaulter was only 10 yrs imprisonment.Such criminals have to be wiped out from the society.Wicked persons of this category must be dealth with punishment beyond imprisonment-Death sentence..or they should be treated in a brutal manner....which is being practised in some of the middle east countries(slicing the tongue or dipping them in boiling oil or water)The severity will haunt them for years and others who intend to do such unscrupulous acts will put an end to such thoughts. This will also forbid others to do such inhuman acts. Moreover women in our country can remain fearless.

HIDDEN FEELINGS......................

The dawn chorus awoken me ,
With your thoughts.
Those thoughts spilled hopes
In my benumbed mind.
Morning breeze drooped
The messages sent by you.
Though u were far away
U were near and dear to me.

Each day passed with
Fondling your memories.
Inhaled the fragrance of your love
Those actions kept me happy
It made me smile....
But stealthy i wept thinking of you.......

When i was down
I felt isolated from the crowd
And became oblivious.
Slowly solitude captured my mind
But i pretend to be happy.

The agonies made my heart
Heavy with unbearable pain.
I sobbed.....
I was in need of you.....
I craved........ for your love and care
I felt like lying........
On your lap.....
And was broken down realising
That u will never come back to me.

I donno where you are
But i can smell your presence around me
Where ever you are
Kindly shower your blessings on me
And spread the light in my life
And make the path visible for me.
I implore you
To remain as a beacon in my life
As my journey is about to begin
Towards a new direction
I wish i should reach
The meaningful destination.

My life began from you
You will continue to remain forever
In my breath,words and feelings
And i cannot erase your thoughts from my mind.

Whatever i do
Iam doing it for you
As you are my dream
And your dreams are my mission.

Concert of T.M.Krishana

Accompaniament:

Violin sri V.N.Kumar
Mridangam sri K.Arun Prakash
Ghatam sri S.Sudheer

T.M.Krishna who belongs to the younger generation of musicians, occupies a predominant position in the field of carnatic music. This grand nephew of late T.K.Krishnamachari(founder of Madras Music Academy)has undergone vocal training with Seetharama sharma,Chengalpet Ranganathan and late Semmangudi Srinivasa iyer.He has conducted many workshops on music and has authored a noteable book on Prof Sambamoorthy on Indian musicologist of international reputation to commemorate his birth centenary.
The concert that was organised as a part of the annual cultural festival of Swaralaya at Fort Maidan,Palakkad, had all the specialities that fans admire in T.M.Krishna.He started the concert with Begada Varnam. This was followed by Theliyavaku rama-a simple krithi of Thyagaraja ,was sung with great sweetness and the way he sung the manodharma was really appreciable.

The keerthana in the kambhoji raga-the most relishable piece of the concert, was rendered so beautifully! This song is composed in tune with Karunacheyvan enthu thamasam(masterpiece of Chembai)His unique style of singing kambhoji raga, flawless alapana, and the presence of a perfect blend of sruthi, expression and cadence enthralled the audience.
Manavyalakim in the nalinakanthi raga composed byThyagaraja was sung with great ease and perfection. As the concert progressed the audience were deeply merged with his singing.

The main piece was Upacharamu in Bhairavi raga. The raga was portrayed by deft of strokes of the master artist and what ensued was a beautiful portrait of bhairavi, with all its splendour and grace.T.M.K sang niraval and swara which evoked divinity among audience.

Fans of T.M.K. come with certain expectations worthy of his creative genius and mastery over music. He never disappoints his favourite Palakkad audience .The concert concluded with Vande Mataram and the rasikas were left with contenment.A perfect synchronisation was maintained between the accompaniament and the vocalist-which has become a rare thing in recent times.Really a Commendable performance!
