MY MOM.......MY FRIEND

When i was a child
i knew her only as my mom
as i stepped into my teen
she turned as my friend

A Friend,
with whom i shared moments of joy and sorrow
A Friend
with whom i shared my thoughts, words and feelings

A Friend,
whom i admired and adored with pride
who stood by me
in all my endeavour

Neither she showed gestures of love
nor expressed any emotions
but i found the same in her
eyes and actions

She taught me the virtues
and showered the freedom on me
always walked with me
with inspiring thoughts and stories

She opened up my mind
which was filled with fear
which made me to think
about aspirations and ambitions

Whenever i failed
she came with encouraging words
which made me confident
to accomplish my dreams and goals

As months and years passed
the bond of friendship grew stronger
and a feeling of pride emerged in my mind
whenever i thought of her

When she began to dream
nature came in it's way
with a dreadful disease
she was pushed in to bed

The last phase crept in to her life
she fought the battle hard
and was not ready to give up
she suffered a lot
yet never showed any signs of despair
and remained happy

Death took her away from me,leaving me alone
still she lives in my heart
like a lamp which shows light in darkness
and gives me hope and courage when iam down

As her thoughts comes to my mind
my eyes get filled with tears
i wish she were here
but destiny has choosen something else for me...................

words mixed with deep sorrows and tears… .u have a natural talent to arrange the words to the "place", the place where we all are keep our own feelings and that untouchable to others…. nice. Keep it up. I hope u can come upon the first row of our women writers and much more...heartiest wishes...

Hi Durga,
Thanks for visiting my site,
and leaving such kind words.
How could I refuse your
invitation to visit your blog, :)

What can I say.
Your very first blog talks about
a child's memory of her mother.
Something I can understand, empathise with
even before starting to read.

I will definitely visit during my wanderings. I have added your site to my blogroll.

Best wishes.
